BISHOP – CALIFORNIA

Joshua Tree National Park (2,300 km²) is located in the southernmost part of the Moave Desert on the border with the Southern Californian Desert. However, desert here does not mean a sandy desert, but a barren, partly rocky landscape with sparse vegetation. The eponymous Joshua trees, yuccas, cacti and all kinds of other desert plants seem to feel particularly at home here.

RIGLOS – SPAIN

The Mallos de Riglos in Spain. Vertical to heavily overhanging conglomerate towers up to 300m high, a small village of 100 people below and the griffon vultures constantly circling above – it’s quite something, you don’t see it every day and reason enough to be advertised here. The absolute “professional routes” dominate here, with everything that goes with them. However, there are also one or two routes for advanced climbers. The area is always beautiful.
